Sir David Jason

SIR DAVID JASON

Born: 2 February 1940

David Jason is still considered one of the greatest British comedy actors of all time.

He is most famous for his roles as Granville in Open All Hours, Blanco in Porridge and Pop Larkin in Darling Buds of May. But by far his most well-known role is as Del Boy Trotter in the internationally-known sitcom Only Fools and Horses from 1981 to 1996 (and with two Christmas episodes in 2003).

More recently, David has played Detective Inspector Frost in the ITV detective drama series A Touch of Frost, which finished in 2010. This particular was notable. Many people were amazed by the way David was able to change from a hilarious comedian, when playing Del Boy or Granville, to a strong straight actor in shows such as A Touch of Frost and Darling Buds of May.
