JOHN CLEESE Born: 27 October 1939
John Cleese is a sitcom comedian who is most famous for his role as Mr Basil Fawlty in the classic sitcom Fawlty Towers, in which he is the owner of a hotel business. In the '60s, he became a member of Monty Python and appeared in the Monty Python films. He was previously married to Fawlty Towers co-star Connie Booth, who played Polly, the assistant. In 2010, Cleese announced that he was to stage a stand-up tour in 2011.
