Ronnie Corbett

Ronnie Corbett

Born: December 1930

Ronnie Corbett, born in Edinburgh, is a comedian and all-round entertainer. He is very well-known for his long term comic partnership with the late Ronnie Barker, and his role in the Frost Report with Ronnie Barker and also John Cleese.

His BBC television comedy show with Ronnie Barker, The Two Ronnies, lasted from 1971 to 1987. Barker and Corbett performed sketches and musical numbers. Corbett presented a monologue. Sitting in a large leather chair (emphasising his small size), and usually wearing a Lyle & Scott golfing V-neck sweater, he would tell a simple joke over several minutes, often allowing himself to appear to lose his train of thought.

More recently he has appeared in Desert Island Discs, Burke and Hare and he had a brief appearance in Harry Hill's TV Burp in 2009.
