ROY CASTLE

Died: 2 September 1994, Buckinghamshire

Roy, born in the town where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed, was an all-round entertainer and jazz trumpet player.

Roy played the role of Dr Who's first ever male assistant. He also appeared in Carry on Up The Khyber. Roy was also a very good friend of the late comedian Ronnie Barker and Roy appeared in 7 of One, a series created by Ronnie.

Although he never smoked, Roy was diagnosed with lung cancer and blamed it on the night clubs. He died at the age of 62 in 1994.
